Remembering Every Day Creating Awesome Calendars

Spread the love

Making calendars using your own family, vacation, or landscape photos is a great way to keep your best memories in mind. It can even be a great way to promote your business! Because calendars are there to remind you each day of what you have planned, why don’t you use it to its fullest? Dates are only one half of a calendar. The images you use will help remind you (or others) of important things too like your family, your memories, your talents, and your business.

Here are a few things that you should remember when putting together your own calendar:

Use High Quality Photos

First of all, if you truly want to show off your stuff, make sure you use high-quality photographs. Most likely, the pictures on your calendar will be blown up slightly, and you’ll want the resolution to be as high as possible to keep the images sharp.

Be Careful about Colors

When selecting your photographs, make sure that you pick pictures that aren’t too dark or too light. Pictures with a lot of black, or dark colors often come out looking over-saturated with messed up contrast. On the other hand, overly light photographs may look washed out. Unless you want to go for that kind of style, avoid extremes in terms of brightness.

Don’t Overcrowd

If you choose to make your calendar collage-style, be careful not to overcrowd a single page with too many pictures. The images should be laid out so they don’t merge, confuse, or distract. Each image is important enough that you wanted to include it on a calendar so don’t let any of them be bullied by another.

Get Second Opinions

Especially if you are trying to show off your photography, it’s important to have others approve your selections. Photographers often get particularly attached to one photo for situational or sentimental reasons. However, outside viewers don’t have those kinds of attachments and may not appreciate a certain photo the way the photographer does. They may prefer other images better and you should listen to them if you intend to distribute or sell your calendars.

Brand Your Images

If you want to distribute or sell your calendars, it’s important to brand your images. These could be as simple as providing a URL to your website, a small image number or name, or your contact information on the cover, back, or corners of your calendar. Make it easy for people to contact you about your images so that you can reel in their business.

Plan in Advance

Have your calendars ready by November at the latest. That is when people realize that they need to get a new calendar to prepare for the upcoming year. Make sure your calendars are available to anyone who may need them! So get your calendar printing started in October.

Print them Professionally

When it comes to calendar printing, you’ll definitely want to go professional. Don’t try to print out your calendars at home especially if you intend on sending or selling them to other people. Do your images justice with professional-quality materials and high-resolution printing.
