Some of the most beautiful holiday spots in southern India are the tourist places near Ooty. It is one of those places where nature is at its full bloom. Exquisite locales, warm people, lush green gardens, different variety of tea, sanctuaries, hills stations, etc are some of the major attractions here. Ooty along with its surroundings is a favorite with travel enthusiasts in India and abroad. As part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve, Mudumalai is home to a variety of wildlife. It is worthwhile to visit this amazing wildlife sanctuary for a day to explore and view a variety of flora and fauna from close quarters. Some of the animals that can be easily spotted include gaur, elephant, mouse deer, chowsingha and sloth bear. Uncommon birds of prey can also be spotted such as crested goshawk, mottled wood owl, blue-winged parakeet, grey franklin, painted bush quail, woodpecker, Indian cuckoo and emerald dove. One of the best ways to explore the sanctuary is through jeep safari.

India has a number of hill stations, yet Ooty stands out amongst them. Not only travelers and tourists visit the place, but a number of movies have been shot there too.
